1. Come prepared. Before Sunday, read the relevant Scripture passage as printed in the Preaching Calendar.
2. Pray. Ask God to set your attitude right so that you are open to His truth and let the Spirit know you want to be more focused.
3. During the week use the questions distributed to study the passage further.
4. Bring a notebook on Sunday to record key points. If your mind wanders, simply usher your thoughts back and ask yourself: "What's the main point?"
5. Ask God: "In what way do you want me to respond to your Word?"
6. Share with someone how you want to obey as a result of hearing God's word and ask for prayer support.
