Care Groups at Evangel
REASONS SMALL GROUPS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The Bible says all followers of Christ form one body (1 Corinthians 12:12- 27). We are connected to each other. We need close, supportive friendships with other believers, as well as opportunities to worship God together.

Some benefits of small groups —
-
Participants build friendships
-
Participants build friendships learn from one another
-
Participants build friendships learn that others face similar problems
-
Participants build friendships encourage each other
-
Participants build friendships hold each other accountable (gently)
-
Participants build friendships confront one another (lovingly)
-
Participants build friendships pray for one another

Remember that as followers and disciples of Christ, we need to grow to become more Christ-like. Underpinning this, do note that spiritual growth occurs in:
1. Community and communion with other members in Church
2. Studying God’s Word together
3. Praying for and encouraging one another in God’s love

Small groups at Evangel purpose the following elements. They are;

RELATIONAL
1. *Interaction & fellowship with group members* - we meet regularly, eat together etc. and get to know each other with some depth in relationship.

THEOLOGICAL
2. *Interaction with God's Word *- in helping each member to grow closer in their walk with Jesus. This is a central agenda of the group. Study & apply God's word together.

MISSIONAL
3. *Interaction with the World* - in applying what we have learned from God's Word. Not just listeners but doers. To do something as a group to help others - the less fortunate, the sick, the elderly, the poor, your neighbor.

REVERENCE
4. *Interaction with God in prayer *- spending time praying as a group.

INFORMATIONAL
5. *Interaction with happenings in Church* - letting members in on critical activities in different ministries and encourage support and involvement so that they can meet other people and help the Church be connected & community to grow.
